ABOUT IQC.CONSTRUCTION
Having worked in construction for the last ten years, I have witnessed millions of dollars, and thousands of man-hours of rework due to quality issues plus the additional cost of reputational damage.
IQC.Construction provides an independent interface between contractor and client to ensure quality expectations are aligned and any quality issues can be resolved faster, cheaper and with confidence.
This is equally important for construction company owners who may have found project problems that have been plastered over until handover time. If you cannot have eyes over every site – I can provide that oversight.
SERVICES
I provide Independent Quality Control Project Management support for construction companies who want confidence that every project meets the industry standard. My role is to be the extra set of set of eyes on site checking workmanship, documenting progress, and making sure everything aligns with the plans, specifications and client expectations.
I carry out regular site inspections, identify defects early, and provide clear practical reports so issues can be resolved before they become costly. I attend site walk-overs with Councils and record minutes. Additionally I can manage subcontractor meetings to ensure all subcontractors are aligned with overall programme delivery. Subcontractor disputes can sometimes simmer below the surface long before the impact becomes large.
Defects Management
Log all defects and assign remedy champions and actions and then seek sign off as each are completed. The Defects Manager role is to coordinate between all engineer disciplines and provide evidence that progress is being made on agreed remediation.
Monthly Audits
Important for both the business owner and client. I provide monthly site updates, independent of the onsite Project Management team. I take progress photos and ensure all supplier tests and material receipts are completed. I then provide an independent quality pdf report to be inserted into monthly client reports.
ITP
Sometimes in a projects rush to maintain the construction programme, the ITP doesn’t receive equal attention. I provide independent man power and oversight of the initially agreed ITP (and/or variations) and ensure programme is reported against the ITP and all witness and hold points have been organised.
